Lovely and Sweet for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - March 2024 | Monochrome Color Challenge

Today's Project

March can often be a solemn month full of rollercoaster temperatures as the weather comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb here in the USA as we get ready for April showers and May flowers.  It will be interesting to hear how the weather is in other parts of the world!  

From another vantage point, let's think of jewels... birthstones in particularly.  The aquamarine is the March birthstone and it is a beautiful clear, pale turquoise... like the color of the sea.  Doesn't that just make you relax and smile as you picture yourself stepping into, standing or walking in this beautiful cool, warm water?  Ahhhhh.... right?!?

And this is what these colors inspired me to create.

Project Details

The Lovely & Sweet almond blossom was stamped in Night of Navy onto a Basic White square.  The image was colored with Light Boho Blue and Light Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends Markers.  

Shading was simply created by layering on the colors.  The coordinating die was used to cut out a mask from Stampin' Up!® Masking Paper.  Inspired by Van Gogh's Almond Blossoms, Pool Party ink was softly blended with a Small Blending Brush over the masked image.

Notes of Nature images were stamped in Night of Navy onto a second square.  The ledger image was die-cut on the left margin with the coordinating ledger die and torn along the perforation.  The journal title image was distressed with paper snips and a bone folder.  The sentiment was die-cut with the Lovely & Sweet tab die.  The blended square layer was adhered to a second Basic White square creating a subtle lift over the collage of items adhered to the Timeworn Type 3D embossed layer.

The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front allowing plenty of room to celebrate the birthday recipient.  The Courage & Faith sentiment was a used to compliment the almond blossom from the card front.  The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was decorated an embossed piece of Basic White cardstock adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to complete the card ensemble.
